Women’s socio-economic empowerment, Sustainable Development Goal 05, and Pakistan’s commitment: an assessment

This study aims to analyse the condition of women's socio-economic empowerment in Pakistan and its position regarding Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5, which relates “gender equality women empowerment”. The paper highlights dilemmas Pakistani discusses impediments they face exercise their fundamental rights. article establishes that while is making constant efforts draft pro-women laws, country continues critical challenges effective implementation. question is, what are programs, strategies, schemes, plans government, institutions, civil societies, Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) can introduce incorporate improve circumstances safeguard interests? identifies discrimination against as root cause behind stagnation, it thus concludes national development not possible until gender parity implemented true letter spirit guaranteed “Constitution Islamic Republic Pakistan” other laws land respectively.
